JAMIE MARK

Jamie is a recent graduate of Royal Holloway, University of London in music. He began learning the piano when he was 7, then the organ at 10, and finally the bassoon at 11. He was fortunate to sing as a chorister at the Chapel Royal, Hampton Court Palace, where he eventually became head chorister. He later returned to the Chapel Royal as the organ scholar during his sixth form: this involved sharing with the assistant director of music the accompanying of the two choral services each Sunday, and on occasions playing for whole services. At secondary school, Jamie was a member of his school's Chamber Choir which broadcast several times on BBC television and radio.

While studying for his music degree at Royal Holloway, Jamie chose to spend more time on his bassoon playing. An orchestral scholar, he played in the university's symphony and chamber orchestras on first bassoon, and also established a popular wind quintet that performed several times both on and off campus.
